Founding story of Kaizen Foundation
The story of how we got to where we are now is quite interesting. We got here by constantly looking out for people who needed help. For example, the founder of the Kaizen Foundation, MR.RRAJHESH NAIR, was working as the head of the parent’s committee at a school called ‘Bhartiya Krishna Vidya Vihar’ with the goal of bringing about some positive social changes.
In that school, a student wrote a letter requesting that the school authorities allow him to receive an award that he saw one of his classmates receive at a school function and dropped the letter in the school’s letterbox. When MR.RRAJHESH NAIR learned of this, he dug deeper into the situation and found that the children’s family was in desperate need of money to pay their school fees and that receiving the award would allow him to receive the required amount to pay his fees. After learning of this incident, our NGO decided to fund the child’s school fees as well as future educational needs.
Another heartwarming incident that our NGO witnessed and cherishes is the story of Mr. Kantibhai, an 80-year-old Nagpur-based second-hand automobile dealer. He had a life full of struggle. The hardships he endured did not alter his character. He still worked hard every day, in order to survive.
Kantibhai had a 20-year-old Bajaj scooter with a kickstart, which was obviously not easy for Kantibhai to start. One day, he came to our office and told us about his ordeal. This was when we knew we had to help him in some way. Our team decided to provide him with financial assistance so that he could pay off his debts and buy a better vehicle.
Kantibhai was overwhelmed with joy as soon as we handed him the check. Tears streamed down his face. His gratefulness knew no bounds. He began sobbing and told us that he had always helped others in need without expecting anything in return, and now he is receiving the same care, especially at a time when he is in desperate need.
Being a part of this organization has exposed us to a lot of wonderful experiences. When our organization faces a difficult period, we tell ourselves these stories to remind us of why we are doing what we are doing, and it gives us the energy to keep pushing. Aside from everything else we do as an NGO; our focus now is on being proactive in making our mark in society through government operations, charity, and skill development activities.
